Two days into the new year, and Christine Majerus has two wins on board. The Luxembourgish champion took the early lead in Meilen on Monday and handily held off Caroline Mani for the EKZ CrossTour win.
“I’m happy with the weekend,” said Majerus, who won in Petange, Luxembourg on Sunday. “It was a really good race today.”
Riding solo off the front for the entirety of the 40-minute race, Majerus made her win look easy, but she insists the hard lap made for a challenging race.
“The course was difficult, and I was a bit anxious from downhill but in the race, it went smoothly,” said Majerus. “I took the lead from the start and just did my rhythm.”
Her rhythm saw her grow her gap lap-after-lap.
“I was a bit surprised I could increase my advantage despite riding a controlled race,” said Majerus. “I could even go a bit easier on the last lap.”
She finished 57-seconds ahead of Mani. Lise-Marie Henzelin rounded out the podium.
